Sony’s European division’s head quarters will be moving out of the UK to avoid disruptions of operations amidst the Brexit turmoil.
The company announced that the new head quarters will set up shop in the Netherlands to avoid customs related set backs after the UK leaves the block.
Sony spokesperson Takashi Iida stated;
“This decision will make Sony a company based in Europe”
Several tech and gaming companies are resorting to moving to the EU in response to Brexit due to the negative implications brought by the departure from the EU customs union. Most notably, Panasonic earlier moved their head quarters to Amsterdam in a bid to avoid tax issues after the UK’s departure.
