Minecraft has turned into somewhat of a craze these past few months, and the title quickly found its way to the leading platforms in the industry with over 100 Million registered users across all of them.
It seems like this success has been noticed by the suits in Hollywood, and Warner Bros. has officially confirmed the acquisition of the Minecraft movie adaptation rights. Following the box office success, it comes to no surprise that the Lego Movie producer, Roy Lee, is reportedly tied to this project with Mean Girl’s Jill Messick producing too.
It should be noted that this acquisition is not a confirmation that the project is in production. It is merely the very early steps in getting the ball rolling, and just like the majority of video game movie adaptations, the project might never materialize.
