Microsoft Reorganization

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, has announced that the company is undergoing an organizational restructuring following Don Mattrick's departure earlier this month, in an effort to create a more streamlined environment.

Replacing Don Mattrick will be former Windows division head Julie Larson-Green, who will be taking under her wing the Devices and Studio Engineering department, which includes the Xbox Gaming division, Music, and most of the Microsoft Hardware devices including the Surface, and others. Terry Myerson has been given the role of head of Operating Systems Engineering, which handles all operating systems and cloud services for the PC, Xbox, and Smart Phone platforms. With this move, Microsoft's five main business units have now been reduced to four, allowing a more streamlined approach at creating a better strategy which focuses on creating a family of devices working hand in hand with each other.
