Sony Pictures Company, Screen Gems, have just acquired the distribution rights for the live-action movie adaptation of Naughty Dog’s popular new IP, The Last of Us. The script will be penned by the game’s Creative director and writer Neil Druckmann, and the project shall be produced by Sam Raimi’s, Ghost House Pictures.
Ever since it’s release last year, Naughty Dog have been shipping copies of the game to movie studios around the world hoping for someone to pick up the live action adaptation. Screen Gems is renowned mainly for the Resident Evil series, however the company lacks directing talent. That being said, Screen Gems seem to be the best partners on this project since they share the same creative vision and high standards Naughty Dog have.
