After a lot of speculation and rumors surrounding the implementation of the Xbox 360 Kinect for the PC market, Microsoft have officially announced the release of the Kinect for Windows at this year's CES. The Kinect for Windows will be launched this February and will cost $249, which is a $100 more expensive than the Xbox 360 version. The reason for this difference in price is due to the implementation of a new sensor which can see objects at a closer range (from approx. 40cm away).
