Disney Interactive studios is laying off about 700 of it’s employees following the merger between two of their sub-divisions; Social and Mobile. The redundancies account for a quarter of the studio’s work force, and is the result of poor sales of their latest titles, namely Where’s My Water 2. The company has decided to increase outsourcing of several of their properties in a bid to decrease operational costs and increase profitability.
