Google have been hard at work at slowly taking over the world; and the latest proof of this, is their announcement of Android Auto.
Android Auto does not refer to the Google driver-less car we mentioned last month, but the actual integration of Google’s flagship operating system, into the on-board interface of cars. In the announcement trailer released today, the minimalistic interface was shown off, alongside voice control, and seamless connectivity with the drivers smartphone. You can answer calls, create reminders, add tasks or appointments, and more, simply through voice.
Google stated;
Android Auto was designed with safety in mind. With a simple and intuitive interface, integrated steering wheel controls, and powerful new voice actions, it’s designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road.
Google maps has also been optimized for this new interface; thanks to the intuitive design, and steering controls, drivers will always keep their eyes on the road whilst looking for a route to their destination. The cross platform connectivity also allows the streaming of music, and contacts to the system, and allows users to take calls directly from the on-board unit.
Android Auto is set to launch soon on the new vehicle lines of the manufacturers found in the link here.
